LHV Bank achieves Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2024 listing - just one year after receiving UK banking license. Significant accolade for one of the UK’s newest banks underlines its focus on people and culture

London, 13th May 2024 - LHV Bank, one of the UK's newest licensed banks, has achieved a critical landmark in its ambitious growth journey. Just 3 years since it was established in London, and one year after it received its banking license, it has been listed in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2024 powered by WorkL, underlining the focus it is placing on building a bank and building a great place to work in parallel.

Key scores that helped LHV Bank secure its listing include 88% for job satisfaction and empowerment; 87% for average employee happiness and wellbeing and 85% for information sharing. It also scored 87% for confidence in management.

Commenting on the listing, Erki Kilu, CEO of LHV Bank said: “The magic of LHV Bank is difficult to describe and impossible to replicate. The power of people has been the secret to our success and it is hugely rewarding to see this commitment recognised. It is a tremendous endorsement of the hard work everyone in our team has done to create a supportive, inclusive and diverse workplace.”

From 6 people in 2021 to a diverse team of 173 in 2024, LHV Bank has created a culture of professional pride, building on the culture of its parent, LHV Group. Established in Estonia in 1999, LHV Group’s mission is to deliver better access to financial services and capital. It now employs over 1,000 people across its Group of companies, has innovation at its heart and takes social responsibility seriously, through its participation in a number of projects with a focus on achieving climate neutrality.

LHV Bank is bringing the same ethos to the UK financial services market. It is creating products and services that are simple and transparent, underpinned by market-leading tech and delivered by people who are well supported personally and professionally and therefore motivated to bring a fresh approach to banking.

As a new organisation, LHV Bank is constantly looking for ways to evolve, innovate and grow. People initiatives are developed in collaboration with employees, to ensure that what is developed addresses the need and has the desired impact. Recent initiatives include the launch of a 'winter office' - a 'pop up' office to allow people to work in a sunnier climate during the colder and darker months. The 2024 winter office will open in Lisbon from September until the end of November. The bank has also rolled out ChatGPT Enterprise to all employees to help colleagues develop new skills and it has joined Progress Together – the membership body championing change within financial services.
