Merchant Payments Ecosystem 2024 – 3 days, 160 speakers, 350 merchants, 1,350 delegates

What were the big take-aways from MPE 2024?

Mike Goodenough, payments industry consultant who is currently working with LHV Bank was at MPE 2024 and reported that the event provided a really important catalyst for the sector to come together to debate the big issues for 2024 and beyond.

MPE 2024 was an exceptionally energising and inspiring event, providing a great opportunity to connect and network with so many colleagues and business partners old and new. Getting the chance to discuss the future of payments and innovations that will impact us was incredibly valuable for everyone in the LHV Bank team.

Networking with the great and good from the entire payment value chain, from bank acquirers, PSPs, fintechs, card schemes and blockchains to merchants, startups, regulators and everyone in between was also immensely worthwhile.

The major talking points

A wide array of topics and perspectives were showcased across the three days, with plenty of lively debate on every facet of merchant payments. LHV Bank’s Chief Technology Officer, Andres Kitter took to the stage to talk about the use of embedded finance, prompting positive response from across the sector.

It was also good to get involved in discussion about how PSD3 is putting consumer interests front and centre and where Generative AI can transform how financial transactions are conducted and managed. The advantages of Account-to-Account (A2A) payments for the evolving B2B ecosystem was also a topic discussed in a number of panels and sessions.

If you didn’t get a chance to talk to a member of the LHV Bank team at MPE 2024 don’t hesitate to get in touch.
